The garage job

A garage cleanout is mostly sorting. We pull everything into the driveway in the morning, before the concrete gets too hot to stand on, and go through it with you. Keep goes back in along one wall. Donate goes on the truck in its own section. Trash goes in the back. By the afternoon, the floor is swept and you can see the wall studs again.

Sheds and storage units run the same way. For a storage unit, we meet you at the facility, load straight from the unit to the truck, and you close the account that day instead of paying another month for boxes you have not opened since the move.

• Boxes, bins and whatever is stacked on top of them
• Old tools, lawn equipment and broken bikes
• Shelving, workbenches and cabinets you do not want
• Tires, car parts and the spare fridge that died
• Floor swept when the truck leaves

Paint, chemicals and other things that need care

Garages hold the things nobody knows how to throw away. Half empty paint cans, pool chemicals, old gasoline, car batteries and propane tanks. We do not put those on the truck because the transfer station will not take them. What we can do is set them aside in one spot so you can drop them at the city's household hazardous waste site, and we can tell you where it is.

Dry latex paint, on the other hand, is fine. If a can has hardened, it goes. Empty propane tanks and car batteries have their own recycling paths, and we will take a battery to a parts store that accepts them if it is on the route.
