A lot of Leon Valley houses were bought new by the people who still live in them, or who lived in them until recently. When those homes change hands, they are full. Fifty years of tools in the garage, a shed out back, closets that were never cleared. Estate cleanouts are the biggest part of what we do here, and we take them one room at a time.

Leon Valley has its own city services and its own rules on curb piles, which differ from the San Antonio blocks a street over. When a family is clearing a house for sale, the simplest path is a truck at the driveway and nothing left out front.

Creek lots and small yards

Homes backing onto Huebner Creek have deeper lots with old fencing, dead patio furniture and sometimes a shed that has been leaning for a decade. We take the fence, the shed and whatever is in it, and the metal goes to scrap.

The rest of the work is everyday pickups. A refrigerator that quit, a bedroom set, a sofa from a front room that has not changed since the eighties. Two people and a truck handle those in a short stop.
